Meet Adam Pauls, CEO of Churchill Wild, and lover of the great outdoors. Churchill Wild offers adventurers from across the world a unique opportunity to explore the home, history, and heritage of the Canadian Arctic. Churchill Wild specializes in ground-level polar bear tours and safaris from three remote ecolodges on Canada’s Hudson Bay coast, which is home to the largest and most accessible polar bear population on the planet. With Adam’s presentation, we have a chance to hear about Northern Manitoba from a true expert.
We asked Adam a few questions about winter and his plans for his session. Here’s what he had to say:
What do you love about living in a winter city?
There’s so much I love about living in a city that experiences winter. The seasons break up our year and provide limited-time opportunities that we can eagerly anticipate. It makes every season feel special. Even when it’s not winter, I can still look forward to my favourite winter activities, which include ice fishing and hockey.
Who should attend your session? What should they look forward to learning about?
If you have an interest in nature, the Arctic, and tourism, you should come to my session. I’ll be talking about what makes Manitoba unique from the rest of the world, and how we’ve built a one-of-a-kind opportunity that celebrates everything the Arctic has to offer.
Finally, do you have any favourite memories of Manitoba in the winter?
When I was a kid, my family and our family friends would go chop down our Christmas tree. It was so fun running through the trees, trying to find the perfect one, and then yelling “TIMBER!” as it came crashing down. Of course, the only way to end that day was with a warm cup of hot chocolate!
