From ice skating trails that loop around the Forks Market and along the Red River’s Nestaweya River Trail to the lively winter Festival du Voyageur and toboggan slopes and skating rinks around nearly every corner, Manitoba comes alive in the wintertime. And in the heart of Manitoba, Winnipeg is a shining example of what embracing our Winter City identity can look like. As the temperatures drop below zero and the city becomes blanketed in snow, residents and visitors experience the city in a whole new light.
Travel Manitoba in partnership with Tourism Winnipeg are proud to put Winnipeg on the world stage as they welcome a diverse and international group of urban planners, designers, entrepreneurs and business people, artists, cultural and community organizers and winter enthusiasts at the 2023 Winter Cities Shake-Up. This year the event will be held at the historic Fort Garry Hotel in Winnipeg, Manitoba from February 15 to 17, 2023.
Join us to hear from internationally renowned experts and rising stars in winter design, winter business and winter fun. Speakers will share ideas on using our infrastructure and creativity to the best of our ability during the winter so that our cities can stay beautiful and alive, even when they freeze over. Learn best practices and share ideas on how to use your identity as a “winter city” to your advantage — and how to make the most of your city across every season.
